How can a search company guarantee privacy?

This latest reddit on internet privacy seems to circle around the same wagons- the main one being unknown culpability- where you unwittingly commit a crime that is then exposed for anyone (including your enemies and law enforcement) to discover.

And while this seems like a good argument, where does the line pragmatically get drawn? It's easy to argue from the extremes- few would agree with complete anonymity in internet transactions, because that would guarantee malicious behavior doesn't get exposed for who's committing it. Full disclosure, on the other hand, leads us to today's article highlighted on Reddit. So what's in the middle?

Theme change!

Yes it's a whole new year, and while the old theme, IMHO, looked just dandy, it was time for something new.

And since what I'll call the 'ole buddha' theme included a lot of extra stuff, I decided to pare things down a bit in this version. So you won't see useless user stuff if you are just a casual visitor, you won't be bombarded with my social networking masterpiece of linking this site with my twitter account, or various other sundry items.

What you will see, hopefully, is the content. I think previously I was putting glasses on Kate Moss. Kate Moss doesn't need glasses, she needs nothing (aside from maybe rehab and new boyfriend like me), and dressing her up just wastes the talent.

insulting blog ads

I'm not an SEO guru or marketing man, etc., so don't sue me for the gut-level reaction I just had- I hate ads on websites, particularly blogs of individuals, that are ridiculous and stupid. I know, earthquake ensues.

I guess it hit me because of Maddox's AMA on Reddit recently- he had 'spoken' at great length regarding the quality of your content as a blogger... and it hit me very ... much? Apparently not if I can spew the last line out, but you get the idea. Oh wow if you don't get the idea click somewhere else.

So the 'hit me' moment occurred because I'm thinking, "Why would someone go to all the trouble to create clever content meant to entice an ever-growing readership, only to smack them in the face with stupidity not an inch away from said 'golden' content?"
